PROJECT UPDATES

Construction Schedule Update – October 10, 2022

Blacktop Service has provided an updated schedule for this week’s work that will affect parking and access along E. Nebraska, Harlen and Jones Street.

Tuesday (10-11)- Plan to start milling along E. Nebraska, Harlen and Jones Street. The roads will be closed during milling. Blacktop Service will be placing no parking signs today noting “No Parking Oct 11th – 15th”.

Wednesday – Plan to pave the patch areas between the new curb and old roadway. Plan to also mill the alley south of Nebraska between Moore Street and Harlen Street.

Thursday & Friday – Plan to pave the overlay across the entire roadway on E. Nebraska, Harlen and the south block of Jones. Entire roadway will be closed during paving until the asphalt cools enough drive on. Some areas may remain closed until the next morning to avoid any unnecessary damage if paving operations finish up late in the day.

Saturday – May potentially be working Saturday to finish up paving this area.

Other work remaining

Removals in the north block of Jones and the car wash alley have begun and storm sewer installation is continuing.  The west half of the alley is now closed. The car wash alley will be paved in two halves to keep at least one bay of the car wash in operation.

The Pine Street storm sewer work is complete, and grading and base is finishing up. A portion of the new curb and gutter on the north side of the road was poured last week and they plan to continue concrete work this week. Patching and paving will take place after concrete work is completed.

Parking stripes, and final cleanup around the courthouse is expected to be completed later this week.

July 7, 2022

Welcome to the eblast updates for the 2022 Street Improvements Project! These will be sent out periodically with important construction information so please read them and feel free to contact our construction representatives with any questions you have. Their contact information is on the website.

Construction is beginning!

Construction along Lantry Street has begun and will continue for the next few weeks. Removals will began first followed shortly by the concrete work. For those of you with curb and driveway replacements at your property you will lose access to that driveway for approximately 3 weeks. Parking along a side street may be necessary. The plan for the majority of the blocks in this project is to just close the road to through traffic. If we are not planning any work in front of your house, you should have full access most of the time. Please note that the contractor may close the block while they are actively working to maintain a safe work zone. We understand that access may be difficult during portions of the work, and we will do our best to accommodate access needs.

Areas that will soon be affected include Pine Street and then the large western portion of the project along W. Nebraska Street, Williams Street, then Call Street, State Street and Hall Street. See the map on the website home page for the project limits.

What can I expect during construction?
