ERWB Water Treatment Plant
Project Overview
The East Range Water Board, in partnership with the City of Aurora and Town of White are replacing the failing water treatment plant with an improved and sustainable water source and treatment facility. The project will construct a new water treatment plant, a new surface water intake structure, and 10,000 feet of water transmission line to extend water service to the Scenic Acres neighborhood. This project will regionalize the water system and provide sustainable water for the east range residents for the next 50 years.
Total Project Cost – $33 Million
Project Timeline
Spring 2024 – Begin Construction of Project
Fall 2024 – Completion of watermain extension to Scenic Acres
2026 – Final Completion of new Water Treatment Facility and Intake Structure
Project Updates
October 17, 2024
- Project is under construction and the contractor has completed the underground tanks for the facility.
- The contractor will continue work through fall and winter on building footings and process tanks. Precast wall and roof panels are expected to be set in spring of next year with facility startup occurring at the end of 2025.
- Construction for the raw water intake structure is expected to start in late 2024. The concrete caisson will be installed through the winter and the pump building will be constructed next summer.
- Startup of the raw water pump station will coincide with startup of the water treatment plant.
