West Industrial Park – Trailhead
Project Overview
The City of Aurora is in the concept development phase of a Multi-Modal Trailhead to be constructed in the West Industrial Park. The trailhead facility would be open to the public and to goal is to accommodate both motorized users (Snowmobiles/ATVs) and non-motorized users (biking, hiking, and cross-country skiing). The final project would include amenities such as restrooms facilities, a wash area, and picnic shelters to create a regional destination for recreational users. The trailhead would provide direct access to the Mesabi Trail and surrounding trail networks.
Project Timeline
The project is currently unfunded, and the following schedule is subject to change.
2024-2025 – Concept Development and Preliminary Engineering
2026 – Final Engineering and Funding Solicitation
2027 – Construction of Trailhead facility
