Based on a thorough review of existing conditions\u2014including watermains from the early 1900s, aging sanitary sewer infrastructure, high inflow and infiltration, and an outdated water treatment facility\u2014the proposed project combines reconstruction, rehabilitation, and new improvements to provide long-term reliability and improved service efficiency.<\/p><p>This project will replace small watermains, improve sewer and lift station capacity, reduce flooding, recoat the water tower, add new water meters, and build a new water treatment plant and wells to provide safe, reliable drinking water. Together, these improvements will reduce water loss, eliminate system deficiencies, improve environmental performance, and provide a resilient, sustainable infrastructure system that supports the 1:<\/strong> New water treatment plant and wells \u2014 construction is underway and expected to be completed this summer.<\/p><p><strong>Phase 2:<\/strong> Rehabilitation of the 50,000-gallon elevated water tower \u2014 construction is expected to begin this summer and be completed by the end of November.<\/p><p><strong>Phase 3:<\/strong> Infrastructure improvements \u2014 construction is expected to begin this fall and continue through summer 2029.<\/p><p><strong>Phase 4:<\/strong> Water meter improvements \u2014 expected to be completed in 2027.<\/p><p><!-- [if class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Key goals of the project include:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Reduce sewer backups, eliminate bypass pumping, and address drinking water quality concerns.<\/li><li>Upgrade water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems that are 50 to more than 100 years old and in deteriorated condition.<\/li><li>Build a new water treatment plant and wells to meet regulatory standards and provide a safe, dependable water supply.<\/li><li>Replace watermains and meters to address unaccounted-for water loss and improve overall system performance.<\/li><li>Rehabilitate and replace sanitary sewer infrastructure to reduce excess water entering the system.<\/li><li>Upsize key sanitary sewer trunk lines and improve lift station capacity to handle peak flows and prevent failures.<\/li><li>Upgrade undersized storm sewer infrastructure to address localized flooding issues.<\/li><li>Improve watermain looping, pressure, and redundancy to reduce service disruptions.<\/li><li>Replace and rehabilitate infrastructure to reduce repairs and improve efficiency over time.<\/li><li>Address current violations and meet state and federal standards for wastewater and drinking water systems.<\/li><li>Deliver modern, reliable infrastructure that strengthens service quality and supports the community\u2019s future No work is scoped to be performed on private property.<\/p><p><strong>Key Factors: <\/strong><\/p><ul><li>No surface water will be impacted due to this project.<\/li><li>The project will not impact any endangered species.<\/li><li>The Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has stated that the project will have no adverse effect on historic properties.<\/li><li>Temporary air, noise, and traffic (congestion) may result from construction equipment, material delivery, and airborne dust during construction.<\/li><li>Temporary Detours may be needed during construction<\/li><li>Sign up
