The contractor will be prepping for the final lift of pavement. Paving is tentatively schedule for mid-to-late next week.
Center Ave. S (7th St. SE to 9th St. SE)
Concrete work has been completed. Milling of the existing pavement is scheduled for Friday (5/9). Please have all parked vehicles off the road by 7am on Friday. Paving is tentatively schedule for mid-to-late next week.

Johnson Subdivision
Starting this week, the contractor plans to prepare for the final lift of pavement, which is scheduled for the week of May 12. First, the contractor will remove and replace the valley gutters at the intersection of 7th Ave. and 3rd St. NW and the east end of 4th St. NW. Work will only take place on one half at a time to allow for access to the cul-de-sacs.
Center Ave. S (7th St. SE to 9th St. SE)
The contractor plans to begin curb and street repairs as early as Tuesday, April 29. There will be minimal impacts to driveway access throughout the construction process. You will be notified if your access will be interrupted.
October 2, 2024
- Elcor Construction plans to complete grading, shouldering and turf establishment throughout the project by the end of next week.
- The gas company’s subcontractor (NPL) is responsible for turf restoration in areas disturbed outside of the City project limits.
September 9, 2024
Paving has been rescheduled for Wednesday 9/11 and Thursday 9/12.
September 6, 2024
Paving is currently scheduled for next Tuesday (9/10) and Wednesday (9/11). During this process, access to driveways will be available but temporarily interrupted until compaction efforts are completed. Please have all parked vehicles off the road by 7am on Tuesday morning. If possible, please refrain from parking and making sharp turns on the new pavement for a few days after it is placed. Thank you for your patience as this project wraps up!
August 22, 2024
Starting tomorrow, Friday (8/23), the contractor plans to prepare the road for paving. The first step will be to remove the excess existing gravel to make room for the new pavement. During this process, access to driveways will be available but temporarily interrupted. Please have all parked vehicles off the road by 8am tomorrow morning. Thank you for your patience throughout the past few weeks!
August 19, 2024
The contractor began excavating and placing new gravel based at the Highway 56 access just north of Casey’s. On Tuesday and Wednesday, they plan to continue east along 4th St NW. Driveway access may be limited during this grading process between 8am and 5pm.
August 16, 2024
The contractor plans to perform a sewer repair on 3rd St NW on Tuesday (8/20) and Wednesday (8/21). Driveway access will be obstructed between 9am and 5pm for all homes within the cul de sac east of House number 608.
August 8, 2024
Grinding of the existing pavement has been rescheduled for Monday 8/12. Please have all vehicles off the road by 7am on Monday. Vehicles can remain in driveways, but access to individual driveways will be periodically interrupted throughout the grinding process.
August 5, 2024
- The contractor has completed all subdrain work throughout the project.
- Approximately 50% of the concrete work has been completed.
- Grinding of the existing pavement is tentatively scheduled for 8/14 (subject to change). Road building and paving to follow.
July 10, 2024
- During the week of 7/7, the contractor plans install subdrain pipe along 4th St NW. Please limit parking along the street to a minimum.
- The contractor will continue to maintain access to every driveway with limited interruptions during subdrain installation.
- The contractor will also be installing sump pump services during this time. The current stakes with pink paint in homeowners’ yards are proposed locations. If you prefer a different location, please contact Chason Mierau.
- As per city contract, sump services will be installed at the right of way line and the remaining connection is the homeowner’s responsibility.
June 25, 2024
As mentioned in the newsletter, the contractor is scheduled to begin work during the week of July 8th. In preparation, they will be mobilizing equipment and materials as early as this week. Saw cutting is also scheduled for Thursday June 27th. This will be done along 4th St NW, just a few feet off the curb, and run parallel for the entirety of the street. Please have all vehicles off 4th St NW on June 27th from 7:00am to 6:00pm.
