Existing Watermain

The contractor is currently replacing the old cast iron watermain pipe with new ductile iron pipe on Goodrich St. Below are pictures of the existing watermain pipe that crews are pulling out of the ground. The existing pipe is old, extremely brittle, and breaking up as it’s pulled out of the ground. This pipe would not have lasted much longer so it is more efficient to replace it now while the street is being redone.

Access and Parking

When the street and utilities are under construction, the contractor will need all of the space in the street possible. Therefore, parking will not be allowed on the project area streets under construction during the working hours.  Access to driveways will be provided as much as possible. Temporary access restrictions should be anticipated during the work day.  The project team understands the need for access to each property, therefore the streets will be temporarily restored at the end of each work day and access to private driveways will generally be available each night.

Garbage and Recycling Service

Please make sure that you have your garbage and recycling bins out the night before your scheduled pick-up day. Garbage and recycling will be picked up throughout the neighborhood starting at 6 AM on your scheduled pick-up day. If the garbage or recycling truck cannot access your street due to construction, construction crews will label the bins and bring them to the nearest accessible intersection for pick up in the morning and then bring the bins back in the evening. Please continue to place the bins at the end of your driveway like normal, just the night prior to pick-up.
