The 3rd Avenue intersection will reopen at that time; closures will not overlap.<\/p>\n<h2>Morrison Avenue (2nd Street south of Main Street) closed<\/h2>\n<p>Morrison Avenue remains closed until mid-June while crews continue water main and utility work from north to south.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/clients.bolton-menk.com\/hwy169andcr4\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/194\/2025\/11\/HWY-169-CR-4-2nd-Street-Closure-Access-Map.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Review the access map<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>MnDOT cable median project<\/h2>\n<p>Motorists may encounter periodic lane closures on Highway 169 south of Zimmerman as the Minnesota Department of Transportation installs high-tension cable median barrier. Read more on MnDOT\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dot.state.mn.us\/news\/2026\/04\/27-d3-169.html\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Access compost site via 255th Ave<\/h2>\n<p>When heading West on 255th Ave, please keep left and follow signage to the compost site. Do not enter private driveways.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/clients.bolton-menk.com\/hwy169andcr4\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/194\/2026\/05\/HWY-169-CR-4-255-169-R-CUT-Access-Maps_255-Inset.jpg\">Review the access map<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Roadwork<\/h2>\n<p>Crews continue grading and preparing the roadway along County Road 4, 3rd Street, and near ramps and roundabouts.<\/p>\n<p>Bridge and retaining wall construction is ongoing, including building bridge supports and installing wall sections. Work will continue through the summer.<\/p>\n<h2>Utility work<\/h2>\n<p>Utility crews will remain active in multiple areas over the next several weeks, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Water main installation on Morrison Avenue<\/li>\n<li>Storm sewer work along 3rd Street and near the roundabout<\/li>\n<li>Additional utility work along segments of County Road 4<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Safety reminder<\/h2>\n<p>Drivers may experience heavier congestion during peak travel times due to construction activity and seasonal traffic.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are encouraged to slow down, follow posted signage, and use designated crossings.<\/p>\n<p>Crews are actively monitoring traffic operations and making adjustments to improve safety and visibility.<\/p>\n<h2>Access map<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-787 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/clients.bolton-menk.com\/hwy169andcr4\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/194\/2026\/04\/April-9-HWY-169-CR-4-East-West-Access-Maps_169-CR4.png\" alt=\"Highway 169 \/ County Road 4 access map\" width=\"9555\" height=\"10990\" \/>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;40&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h1>Current traffic impacts<\/h1>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text]<div class=\"mkd-separator-holder clearfix  mkd-separator-center mkd-separator-full-width\">\n\t<div class=\"mkd-separator\" style=\"border-color: #c9c9c9;border-style: solid;border-bottom-width: 4px\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n[vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Highway 169 reduced to one lane<\/h2>\n<p>Highway 169 between 255th Avenue and 269th Avenue has been reduced to one lane and traffic has been shifted to the southbound lanes through August. <strong>With this traffic shift, the County Road 4 turn lanes off of Highway 169 will also close through August.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Access east of Highway 169<\/h3>\n<p>Eastside access to\/from Highway 169 will be maintained via Fremont Drive and a temporary traffic signal at the Highway 169 \/ Pine Street intersection. The Oak Street access to Highway 169 is permanently closed.<\/p>\n<h3>Access west of Highway 169<\/h3>\n<p>Westside access to\/from Highway 169 will be maintained via Main Street with a temporary traffic signal at the Highway 169 \/ Main Street intersection. Access to 5th Avenue North (near the Caribou Coffee), Gateway Drive and the newly constructed 255th intersection will remain open as well.<\/p>\n<h2>County Road 4 intersection closures<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The intersections of County Road 4 and Main Street, 2nd Street, and 3rd Street will be intermittently closed throughout the summer. Closures will not overlap. <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">We will share information about these closures once they get closer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>The County Road 4 \/ 3rd Street intersection is currently closed for 3 to 4 weeks for underground utility work.<\/li>\n<li>Drivers can utilize nearby roads to access businesses in the area. Access signs will be installed to help drivers navigate the area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Morrison Avenue (2nd Street south of Main St) closed through spring<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Access to compost site continue to be maintained via 255th Avenue.\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/clients.bolton-menk.com\/hwy169andcr4\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/194\/2025\/11\/HWY-169-CR-4-2nd-Street-Closure-Access-Map.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Review the access map<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>253rd Avenue access<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The frontage road access onto Highway 169 north of 253rd Avenue is permanently closed.
