Project Updates
November 20, 2018
The project is substantially complete at this time. In the spring additional turf restoration work will occur along with the paving of the final lift of bituminous pavement. Any necessary repair items will also be completed. Please contact one of the individuals on the Contacts tab if you have an item that you would like to be reviewed for possible repair in the spring. Thank you for your patience during the construction of this project.

- Storm sewer construction on Second Street is complete.
- Draintile construction in the alley to the west of Cedar Street is complete.
- Storm sewer construction on Cedar Street is partially complete.

- Installation of the remaining storm sewer on Cedar Street.
- Excavation of the street section and placement of draintile, select granular borrow, and aggregate base.
September 28, 2018
Recently completed construction items include:
Sewer and water service replacements have been completed.
The necessary watermain tests have passed and the temporary water system has been removed. All homes are now connected to the new watermain.
The storm sewer has been constructed from Maple Street to just west of Cedar Street.

- Installation of the remaining storm sewer on Cedar Street and the west block of Second Street.
- Excavation of the street section and placement of draintile, select granular borrow, and aggregate base.
September 13, 2018
Recently completed construction items include:
- Mainline sanitary sewer and watermain work has been completed.
Two-thirds of the sewer and water services have been replaced.
- Misc. traffic control and temporary access measures.
Upcoming scheduled construction items (weather permitting) include:
- Installation of the remaining sewer and water services.
- Storm sewer work starting at the east end of the project.
September 7, 2018
Recently completed construction items include:
- Mainline sanitary sewer and watermain work has been completed up to the west end of the project.
- Misc. traffic control and temporary access measures.
Upcoming scheduled construction items (weather permitting) include:
- Utility installation work on 2nd Street is planned to be completed next week.
- Installation of sanitary sewer and water services will commence next week and will take several days to complete.
August 27, 2018
Recently completed construction items include:
- Misc. curb removals.
- Relocation of a power pole on Walnut Street.
- Utility installation work on 2nd Street in the intersection with Walnut Street.
- Relocation of a power pole on Walnut Street.
Upcoming scheduled construction items (weather permitting) include:
- Utility installation work on 2nd Street. This work has started at the east end of the project at Maple Street and will continue to the west for the next several days.
August 20, 2018
Recently completed construction items include:
- Testing of the temporary water system.
- Tree clearing and grubbing.
Upcoming scheduled construction items (weather permitting) include:
- Misc. curb and driveway removals.
- Relocation of a power pole on Walnut Street.
- Utility installation work on 2nd Street. This work will now start at the west end in order to not have to shut down Bayview Elementary School during school which starts next week. Properties that will need to be shut-off to allow for this work to occur will be delivered a notice.
August 14, 2018
Recently completed construction items include:
- Installation and testing of the temporary water system.
- Installation of erosion control items.
- Traffic control setup.
- Small utility locating and survey items.
- Removal of the street pavement.
Upcoming scheduled construction items (weather permitting) include:
- Tree removals.
- Misc. curb and driveway removals.
- Utility installation work on 2nd Street. This work will start at the east end of the project near Maple Street and will progress to the west.
August 3, 2018
- The project was awarded to OMG Midwest – Chard. Project contracts and construction submittals are complete.
- The preconstruction meeting was held with the contractor on August 2, 2018.
- Preliminary construction items will occur the week of August 6th. These items include construction staking, utility locating, and installing a temporary water system. Please leave these items in place and mow around them as best you can.
- The roadway will then be removed after the Carver County Fair, likely the week of August 13th (weather permitting). Utility installation work will then begin, starting at the Second Street / Maple Street intersection.
