Wentworth Avenue Reconstruction Project
The Wentworth Avenue Reconstruction Project’s purpose is to upgrade a two-lane rural road to a two-lane urban section with turn lanes. This upgrade is to improve roadway operations, safety, and provide for increased traffic levels.
Wentworth Avenue is an important east-west roadway in northern Dakota County, providing connections to Robert Street from Mendota Heights and South St. Paul. Wentworth Avenue is important to the City of West St Paul because it provides direct access to multiple residential and commercial properties, City Hall, and the Sports Dome.
Project Goals
- Upgrade from 2-lane rural to 2-lane urban with turn lanes
- Operation and safety improvements for pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit
- Study major intersection operations for needed upgrades and safety improvements
- Upgrades to City sanitary sewer and St. Paul Regional Water Service infrastructure
