19th Avenue Path Improvements
Proposed Improvements
The City of Willmar is undertaking a construction project to reconstruct and upgrade the existing concrete sidewalk to a 10’ bituminous multi-use trail with ADA improvements along the south of side of 19th Ave from 15th St SW to 1st S and along the north side of 19th Ave from 1st St to 5th St SE. The work is anticipated to last until August 2024.
Project Timeline
The following is a tentative schedule for the construction in each of the project areas:
- All Phases
- Trees marked by a pink ribbon/paint will be removed during the week of June 17.
- Phase 1 (15th St SW to 9th St SW)
- Sidewalk removal and trail reconstruction will start June 24.
- Anticipated completion date is Mid-July
- Phase 2 (9th St SW to 1st St)
- Sidewalk removal and trail reconstruction will start Early-July.
- Anticipated completion date is Late-July
- Phase 3 (1st St to 5th St SE)
- Sidewalk removal and trail reconstruction will start Mid-July.
- Anticipated completion date is Early-August.
Driveway access to businesses and residences will be maintained to the greatest extents possible throughout the project. Additional notices similar to this one will be sent out as construction progresses. If construction is delayed due to inclement weather, assume it will proceed the following day.
