PROJECT OVERVIEW
The City of Zimmerman, in cooperation with Livonia Township, is proposing the improvement of 269th Avenue Northwest from County Road 45 to 136th Street NW, a distance of one mile. The roadway is under Livonia Township jurisdiction but has been maintained by the city for several years in accordance with the now-expired annexation agreement. The city has agreed to improve the roadway as part of its maintenance responsibilities.
The improvements would consist of the following:
- Removal of existing pavement
- Installation of 8-inch sanitary sewer main
- Sewer would not be connected to city system until additional development on the south side of 269th occurs
- Installation of 12-inch water main
- Regrading of the roadway and drainage ditches
- Construction of a 24-feet wide bituminous paved roadway with 6-feet wide aggregate shoulders
- Replacement of mailbox posts with breakaway posts
- Estimated construction cost is $2.1 million

Estimated Project Schedule
The estimated 2023 schedule for the project is as follows:
- Bid Advertisement Period: January – February
- Bid Opening: February 23rd
- Bid Award: February 27th (contingent upon acceptable bids)
- Commence Construction: Mid-May
- Complete Construction: September 30, 2022
More detailed schedule information will be provided after a construction bid award and we have information from the successful contractor on their planned construction schedule.
