Project Timeline

This project was awarded to Zigs Mainline Excavating of Eveleth on April 8, 2025. Zigs plans to begin work the week of July 7, beginning with work on the temporary water system and grubbing trees along the easement. Following this they will begin work on the sanitary and watermain starting at Erie Street and working to the Northwest. This contract requires completion of utility work by the end of September 2025.

During the project, residents will be connected to an above ground temporary water supply system until the new watermain is installed.

All privately owned landscaping improvements, retaining walls, sheds, etc. located in the utility easement will need to be relocated prior to construction. Neither the contractor nor City is responsible for damages incurred to private improvements located in the utility easement. Any underground improvements, such as irrigation lines and heads, dog fences, etc., should be located and marked so they are readily visible.
