November 8th, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

Upcoming for next week November 11th, 2024

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • The City’s contractor Ryan Contracting will be onsite starting next week Monday, 11/11 to complete punch list work along the State Street (CSAH 6) project. The work will consist of raising manhole castings, adjusting curb stops, gravel surfacing, and other miscellaneous appurtenant work. All work will be completed under traffic with proper traffic control.

 

September 20th, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week September 16th

The contractor completed the following work this past week:

  • Completed the final striping of the City Hall parking lot and Ash Street parking stalls.
  • Completed the paving of the bituminous overlay west of N Eagle Street.
  • Completed installation of all permanent mailboxes. Regular mail delivery has been restored within the entire project area.

Upcoming for next week September 23rd, 2024

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • The contractor expects to complete the installation of the interim pavement markings on State Street.
  • The contractor is scheduled to remove all road closure and detour signing and reopen the roadway by the end of the day Friday.
  • There will be ongoing miscellaneous and final cleanup work throughout the fall. This work will be completed under traffic.
  • Ryan Contracting will return next spring to finish the paving of the final lift of bituminous east of N Eagle Street, final seal coat, pavement markings, and any remaining punchlist items.
  • This is the final weekly construction update for this project.

 

September 13th, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week September 9th

The contractor completed the following work this past week:

  • Completed the final grading, topsoil, and seed installation.
  • Completed the paving of the final lift of bituminous on the City Hall parking lot and block 93 alley.

Upcoming for next week September 16th, 2024

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • The contractor expects to complete the paving of the bituminous overlay west of N Eagle Street on Monday and Tuesday.
  • By mid-week, the contractor expects to complete the installation of the new permanent signing.
  • The contractor expects to complete the final striping for the City Hall parking lot and Ash Street parking stalls along the Fire Hall.
  • No specific date has been scheduled for completion of the interim pavement markings which are required before reopening the roadway.

 

September 6th, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week September 2nd

The contractor completed the following work this past week:

  • Completed the installation of all remaining street lights.
  • Continued progress on the final grading, topsoil, and seed installation.

Upcoming for next week September 9th, 2024

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • The contractor expects to complete the remaining grading and seeding within the project area. All the topsoil has been installed.
  • The crack sealing within the mill and overlay portion of State St from the start of the 30 mph speed limit zone to the west side of N Eagle St has been canceled based on further evaluation by the County.
  • No specific date has been scheduled for completion of the overlay bituminous paving.

 

August 30th, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week August 26th

The contractor completed the following work this past week:

  • Paving of the remaining bituminous driveway patches. The contractor also completed the paving of the roadway patches on Buffalo and Ash Street, along with the new on-street parking on Ash Street along the fire hall.
  • Milling of State Street from the start of the 30 mph speed limit zone to the west side of N Eagle St. The roadway is currently open to local traffic.
  • Continued progress on the final grading, topsoil, and seed installation.

Upcoming for next week September 2nd, 2024

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • No work is anticipated on Monday in observance of Labor Day.
  • Installation of the 10 remaining new street lights is scheduled for Tuesday.
  • The contractor anticipates completing the remaining grading, topsoil installation, and seeding along both sides of State Street for the full project area.

 

August 23rd, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week August 19th

The contractor completed the following work this past week:

  • Continued progress on the installation of the new street lighting. The remaining 10 new street lights have been shipped and are awaiting delivery.
  • Continued progress on the final grading and topsoil installation.

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • The contractor expects to complete the paving of the remaining bituminous driveway patches on Tuesday.
  • The contractor expects to complete the milling of State Street from the start of the 30 mph speed limit zone to the west side of N Eagle St on Tuesday.
  • The contractor anticipates continuing to complete the final grading, topsoil installation, and seeding as available along State St working from west to east.

 

August 16th, 2024

This past week August 12th

The contractor completed the following work this past week:

  • Completion of the final remaining concrete work along State Street.
  • Completion of the first lift of bituminous on State Street between N Chestnut St and N Walnut St and within Block 93 Alley along City Hall.
  • Continued progress on the installation of the new street lighting.

  • The contractor expects to complete the paving for the remaining bituminous driveway patches and roadway patch on Ash Street along the Fire Hall.
  • The contractor anticipates continuing to complete the final grading, topsoil installation, and seeding as available along State St working from west to east.

 

August 9th, 2024

This past week August 5th

The contractor completed the following work this past week:

  • Completion of the final grading along State St and Block 93 Alley for the first lift of bituminous paving.
  • Continued progress on the remaining concrete work along State Street.

Upcoming for next week August 12th, 2024

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • On Monday, the contractor expects to pave the first lift of bituminous within Block 93 Alley along City Hall and State Street for the remaining area between N Chestnut St and N Walnut St. Additionally, the contractor expects to complete the paving for the remaining bituminous driveway patches.
  • Completion of the remaining concrete work is anticipated Monday or Tuesday.
  • The contractor anticipates continuing to complete the final grading, topsoil installation, and seeding as available along State St working from west to east.

 

August 2nd, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week July 29th

The contractor completed the following work this past week:

  • Completion of the private utility pedestal adjustments.
  • Started the installation of the new street light poles. The new lights are being delivered in multiple shipments with additional shipments still outstanding.

Upcoming for next week August 5th, 2024

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • Mid to late week the contractor expects to pave the first lift of bituminous on State Street for the remaining area between N Chestnut St and N Walnut St. Additionally, the contractor expects to complete the paving within the Block 93 Alley along City Hall and all remaining bituminous driveway patches.
  • Completion of the remaining concrete work is tentative for the end of the week or more likely the week after.
  • The contractor anticipates continuing to complete the final grading, topsoil installation, and seeding as available along State St working from west to east.

 

July 26, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week July 22nd

The contractor completed the following work this past week:

  • The contractor completed all the remaining concrete driveways and sidewalks along State Street except for a few small sections of sidewalk. The majority of these areas are awaiting adjustments of private utility pedestals before the concrete sidewalk can be constructed.
  • Completed bituminous patching for small areas within the project corridor to restore the roadway surface and/or reestablish driveway access.
  • Continued the installation of topsoil and seeding along both sides of State St working west to east.

Upcoming for next week July 29th, 2024

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • Completion of the remaining concrete work following successful private utility adjustments.
  • The contractor anticipates continuing to complete the final grading, topsoil installation, and seeding as available along State St working from west to east.
  • The contractor expects to pave the first lift of bituminous on State Street for the remaining area between N Chestnut St and N Walnut St within the next couple of weeks. No specific date has been set but notices will be provided to the adjacent properties in advance of the work being completed.

 

July 19, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week July 15th

The contractor completed the following work this past week:

  • Continued with the new concrete driveways and sidewalk along State Street between N Meridian St and N Walnut St.
  • Finished the new street lighting improvements along State St except for the installation of the new street light poles which are still awaiting shipment from the manufacturer.
  • Started the installation of topsoil and seeding along the south side of State St working west to east.

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • The contractor plans to finish all remaining concrete driveways and sidewalks along State Street with the project corridor.
  • The contractor anticipates continuing to complete the final grading, topsoil installation, and seeding as available along State St working from west to east.
  • The contractor expects to pave the first lift of bituminous on State Street for the remaining area between N Chestnut St and N Walnut St within the next few weeks. No specific date has been set but notices will be provided to the adjacent properties in advance of the work being completed.

 

July 12, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week July 8th

The contractor completed the following work this past week:

  • Continued with the new concrete driveways and sidewalk along State Street between N Elk St and N Chestnut St.
  • Completed removals within the portion of Block 93 alley south of State Street to allow for new bituminous improvements.
  • Continued the new street lighting improvements along State Street between N Meridian St and N Walnut St (TH 25).
  • The contractor reopened the intersections of State St at N Eagle St and N Meridian St to north-south traffic.

  • The contractor plans to continue with the new concrete driveways and sidewalks along State Street between N Meridian St and N Walnut St (TH 25).
  • The contractor anticipates completing the final grading, topsoil installation, and seeding as available along State St working from west to east.

 

July 5, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week July 1st

The contractor completed the following work this past week: 

  • Completed the construction of the new curb and gutter along State St between N Chestnut St and N Walnut St (TH 25).
  • Continued with the new concrete driveways and sidewalk along State Street between N Elk St and N Meridian St.

Upcoming for next week July 8th

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • Continuation of the new concrete driveways and sidewalks along State Street between N Meridian St and N Walnut St (TH 25).
  • The contractor anticipates throughout the next couple of weeks to complete the final grading, topsoil installation, and seeding as available along State St working from west to east.
  • Continuation of the new street lighting improvements consisting of new concrete bases and wiring east of N Chestnut St. The new light poles are expected to be delivered in late July/early August.
  • The contractor did not perform work on Thursday, July 4th but was onsite Friday, July 5th to set concrete forms and support garbage pickup day.

 

June 28, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week June 24th

The contractor completed the following work this past week: 

  • Completed the first lift of bituminous pavement on State Street from the west side of N Eagle St to the west side of N Chestnut St. The Contractor made a miscalculation on the quantity of asphalt and there is a small portion unpaved near N Chestnut St that will be addressed as part of the next paving operation.
  • Continued with the new concrete driveways and sidewalk along State Street between N Elk St and N Meridian St.
  • Completed the first lift of bituminous pavement and interim parking stall striping within the City Hall Parking Lot. The parking lot was reopened today and will remain open until the paving of the final lift of pavement anticipated in late August/early September.

Upcoming for next week July 1st

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • Continuation of the new concrete driveways and sidewalks along State Street to complete all concrete work from the west up to N Meridian St.
  • Planned pouring of the new concrete curb and gutter along State St between N Chestnut St and N Walnut St (TH 25).
  • Planned continuation with the new street lighting improvements consisting of new concrete bases and wiring east of N Chestnut St. The new light poles are expected to be delivered in late July/early August.
  • The contractor has communicated no work will be completed on Thursday and Friday, July 4th and 5th.

 

June 21, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week June 17th

The contractor completed the following work this past week: 

  • Roadway subcut and installation of new sand and aggregate base within State St up to N Walnut St (TH 25).
  • Started the City Hall Parking Lot improvements by completing the removals and installation of the new sand and aggregate base.
  • Installation of the new concrete street light bases between N Market and N Chestnut St this week.
  • Continued with the new concrete driveways and sidewalk along State Street between N Market St and N Meridian St.
  • Began the improvements along Ash Street associated with the Fire Hall. The work includes the construction of on-street angle parking along the east side of Ash Street adjacent to the Fire Hall.  The Contractor was successful in completing the removals and installation of the new sand and aggregate base.

Upcoming for next week June 24th 

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • The contractor plans to continue with the City Hall Parking Lot improvements consisting of the new concrete curb and gutter along the north side. The parking lot is scheduled to receive both lifts of bituminous paving this week to allow for reopening by the end of the day on Friday, June 28th.
  • Expected continuation of the new concrete driveways and sidewalks. The goal is to work west to east starting at N Elk St to finish the remaining outstanding areas and then continue with the new work between N Market and N Meridian St.
  • Continuation of improvements along Ash Street consisting of the new concrete curb and gutter for the parking area.
  • The first lift of bituminous on State Street is anticipated between N Eagle St and N Meridian St this week. No specific date has been set yet but notices will be provided to the adjacent properties in advance of the work being completed.

 

June 17, 2024

The contractor plans to close the City Hall parking lot to vehicle access starting at 7:00 am this Wednesday, June 19th to begin the reconstruction process. Initial operations will be for the removal of the existing concrete pavement followed by the installation of the new aggregate base. The parking lot is expected to remain closed until the scheduled reopening, end of the day on Friday, June 28th. On-street parking in front of City Hall along N Meridian Street will be open for use during this time.

June 14, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week May June 10th

The contractor completed the following work this past week: 

  • Completed the last of the project’s underground utility work, including State Street and the Block 31 Ravine.
  • New concrete and gutter between N Market St and the alley east of N Meridian St.
  • Block 31 ravine grading, rip rap installation, seeding, and erosion control blanket
  • Continued with the roadway subcut and installation of the new sand and aggregate base between N Chestnut and N Cedar St.

Upcoming for next week June 17th 

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • Continuation of the roadway subcut and installation of the new sand and aggregate base between N Cedar and N Walnut St (TH 25).
  • Expected continuation of the new concrete driveways and sidewalks. The goal is to work west to east starting at N Elk St to finish the remaining outstanding areas and then continue with the new work between N Market and N Meridian St.
  • Start of improvements within the City Hall Parking Lot this week. The parking lot is expected to be closed to vehicle traffic starting on Wednesday, June 19th to allow for removals, sand and aggregate base improvements, and a new curb along the north side.  The parking lot will remain closed until the anticipated reopening by the end of the day on June 28th after the completion of the new bituminous pavement.
  • The first lift of bituminous on State Street was delayed due to weather but is anticipated that the first lift of bituminous pavement will be placed for the entire portion between N Eagle St and N Meridian St the week of June 24th. No specific date has been set yet but notices will be provided to the adjacent properties in advance of the work being completed.

 

June 7, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week May June 3rd

The contractor completed the following work this past week: 

  • Completed the installation of the sanitary sewer and watermain up to the west side of N Walnut St (TH 25). The Contractor has also completed the installation of all new services within State Street.  This marks the completion of all underground sanitary sewer and watermain for the project.
  • Continued with the Block 31 ravine importing of fill and grading.
  • Continued installation of the new concrete concrete sidewalk between N Elk and N Grove St.

Upcoming for next week June 10th 

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • Anticipated completion of storm sewer installation from Chestnut to Cedar St. There is no storm sewer between N Cedar and N Walnut St (TH 25).
  • Immediately following the completion of the storm sewer in State St the contractor plans to complete the installation of the new storm sewer within the Block 31 ravine. It is anticipated weather-dependent that all underground utility work will be completed on the project by the end of the week.
  • The contractor expects to continue with the installation of the new concrete curb and gutter picking back up at N Market St and plans to get through the N Meridian St intersection.
  • It is anticipated that the first lift of bituminous pavement will be placed for the two-block portion between N Eagle St and N Market St late in the week. No specific date has been set yet but notices will be provided to the adjacent properties in advance of the work being completed.
  • The contractor plans to continue with the roadway subcut and installation of the new sand and aggregate base between N Chestnut and N Walnut St (TH 25).

 

May 31, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week May 27th

The contractor completed the following work this past week: 

  • Installation of the new storm sewer up to the west side of N Chestnut St.
  • Completed the roadway subcut and installation of new sand and aggregate base up to the alley east of N Meridian St intersection.
  • Installation of the new sanitary sewer midblock between N Cedar St and N Walnut St (TH 25)
  • Continued installation of the new concrete concrete sidewalk between N Elk and N Grove St.
  • Started the grading within the Block 31 ravine along the west side of Buffalo St

Upcoming for next week June 3rd 

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • Completion of the installation of the new sanitary sewer and watermain up to the west side of N Walnut St (TH 25) is anticipated. Immediately following the completion of the sewer and water the Contractor plans to complete the installation of the storm sewer from Chestnut to Cedar St.  There is no storm sewer between N Cedar and N Walnut St (TH 25).
  • Continuation of the construction of the new concrete sidewalk along the north side of State St between N Grove St and N Market St.
  • It is anticipated that further roadway construction and ravine grading will be paused for this upcoming week and resumed the week of the 10th to allow for the completion of the remaining new underground utilities within State Street.
  • There will be continued installation of new underground conduits primarily along the north side of State St by multiple private utility companies this week.

 

May 24, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week May 20th

The contractor completed the following work this past week: 

  • Installation of the new storm sewer through the N Meridian St intersection.
  • Installation of the new sanitary sewer between N Chestnut St and N Cedar St.
  • Roadway subcut and installation of new sand and aggregate base up to the N Meridian St intersection.
  • Installed the new concrete street light bases along both sides of State St between N Eagle St and N Cedar St.

Upcoming for next week May 27th 

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • No work will be conducted on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.
  • Installation of new underground conduits will be observed primarily along the north side of State St by multiple private utility companies this week.
  • Anticipated continuation of construction of the new concrete sidewalk along the north side of State Street between N Elk and N Market St.
  • Finishing the installation of the new storm sewer between N Meridian and N Chestnut St is expected.
  • Immediately following the completion of the storm sewer the contractor plans to continue with the installation of the new underground utilities between N Chestnut St and N Cedar St.
  • The contractor has encountered a delay in connecting the properties between N Cedar St and N Walnut St (TH 25) to the temporary water system, however, is planning to complete these connections late in the week or early the week following.
  • The contractor is scheduled to start grading work within the Block 31 ravine along Buffalo St this week. The rough grading is required to be completed to allow for the installation of the new storm sewer immediately following. The final operation will be final grading and turf restoration.

 

May 17, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week May 13th

The contractor completed the following work this past week: 

  • Installation of the new sanitary sewer and watermain through the intersection of Chestnut St.
  • Roadway subcutting and installation of sand and aggregate base up to the west side of Willow St.
  • New concrete curb and gutter between N Eagle St and N Market St.
  • Removals including the salvaging of the reclaimed material up to the intersection of Cedar St.
  • Installation of the new sanitary sewer and water services up to the west side of N Meridian St.
  • Scheduled water shutdown to connect the watermain within the N Meridian St intersection.

Upcoming for next week May 20th 

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week:

  • First thing next week the Contractor plans to complete the installation of the new storm sewer up through the intersection of N Meridian St.
  • Immediately following the completion of the storm sewer the Contractor plans to complete the new sanitary sewer and water services between N Meridian St and N Chestnut St.
  • It is expected that by the end of the week, the Contractor will work on installing the new sanitary sewer and watermain between N Chestnut and N Cedar St.
  • Planning to complete the removals including salvaging the reclaimed material for the last block between N Cedar St up to Walnut St (TH 25).
  • The Contractor anticipates connecting the properties between N Cedar St and N Walnut St (TH 25) to the temporary water system late in the week or early the week following.
  • Anticipating continuing with concrete work consisting of the new sidewalk and driveway aprons between N Eagle St and N Market St weather dependent.

 

May 10, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week May 6th

The contractor completed the following work this past week: 

  • Completed the removals including the salvaging of the reclaimed material up to the east side of the intersection of N Chestnut St. The current road closure of State Street (CSAH 6) is from N Eagle St to N Chestnut St.
  • Completed the installation of the new sanitary sewer and water services up to the west side of N Willow St.
  • Completed the installation of the new storm sewer from N Market St to N Willow St.
  • Completed the roadway subcut and installation of sand and aggregate base between N Grove St and N Market St.
  • Connected all properties affected by the project between N Willow St and N Chestnut St to the temporary water system.
  • Completed two scheduled water shutdowns to isolate the project area up through N Chestnut St.

Upcoming for next week May 13th, 2024

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week: 

  • First thing Monday the plan is to start the installation of new sanitary starting at N Meridian St heading west towards N Willow St. The sanitary sewer flow changes midblock between N Market St and N Willow St requiring the Contractor to start at N Meridian St and work east to west back towards N Willow St.
  • Immediately following the completion of the sanitary sewer the Contractor plans to complete the watermain and storm sewer between N Willow St and N Meridian St.
  • It is expected that all remaining underground utility work between N Meridian St and N Walnut St (TH 25) will be completed working west to east.
  • Planning to continue installation of the new concrete sidewalk up to N Elk St.
  • Anticipating to start the installation of the new concrete curb and gutter between N Eagle St and N Market St weather dependent.

 

May 3, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week April 29

The contractor completed the following work this past week: 

  • Installed sanitary sewer from N Market St towards N Willow St. The sanitary sewer flow changes midblock between N Market St and N Willow St requiring the Contractor to start at N Meridian St and work east to west back towards N Willow St.
  • Transferred all properties between N Eagle St and N Grove St from the temporary water system back over to the new water main.
  • Completed the roadway subcut and installation of sand and gravel base through the N Grove St intersection.
  • Finished reclaiming the existing pavement from N Willow St up to the east end of the project at Walnut St (Hwy 25).
  • Installed of the temporary water system along both sides of State St from N Willow St to N Cedar St. All affected properties within this three-block area will be notified separately to schedule hookups late next week or the week after.

Upcoming for next week May 6

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week: 

  • Finish installing sanitary sewer and water services between N Grove St and N Market St from main to right-of-way first thing in the week.
  • Finish installing storm sewer between N Market St and N Willow St.
  • Begin installing sanitary sewer starting at N Meridian St heading west towards N Willow St toward the end of the week.
  • Begin excavating roadway and installing sand and gravel road base between N Grove and N Market St
  • No concrete work is specifically scheduled for this week.

April 26, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week April 22nd, 2024

The contractor completed the following work this past week: 

  • Completed pressure testing for new watermain on State Street between N Eagle St and N Grove St.
  • Poured new concrete sidewalk along the north side of State St from N Cherry to N Buffalo St.
  • Finished underground utility work between N Eagle St and N Grove St, allowing for excavation and installation of new roadway sand and aggregate base up to the west side of N Grove St intersection.
  • Started installation of new sanitary sewer from N Grove St east towards N Market St.
  • Finished installation of new street light bases and underground conduit west of N Eagle St in anticipation of street light delivery by end of June.

Upcoming for next week April 29th, 2024

The contractor anticipates conducting the following work next week: 

  • Continuing installation of new sanitary sewer east towards N Market St.
  • Completing installation of new water main within the same block and starting new services from main to right of way by end of the week.
  • Planning to work on installation of new storm sewer anticipated for the first week of May.
  • Continuing grading for new sidewalk east from N Buffalo to N Eagle St.
  • No concrete work expected this week; concrete crew to resume pouring new sidewalk the first week of May.
  • Anticipating starting new concrete curb and gutter installation between N Eagle St and N Grove St in early to mid May.
  • Scheduled to complete reclaim of existing bituminous pavement for the rest of State St up to the west side of the intersection of Walnut St by the end of the week.

 

April 19, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week April 15th, 2024

  • The contractor completed the water shutdowns to install new gate valves within State Street at N Eagle St and N Grove St intersections.
  • The contractor started the installation of the new sanitary sewer starting at N Grove St and worked west towards N Eagle St. The sanitary sewer is completed up to the east side of the N Eagle St intersection.
  • The contractor completed installation of the street light bases west of N Eagle St and started the installation of the new underground electrical conduit within the boulevard between the bases.

Upcoming for next week April 22nd, 2024

  • On Monday, the contractor plans to complete the sanitary sewer within the N Eagle St intersection.
  • Following the completion of the sanitary sewer the contractor plans to complete the installation of the new watermain between N Eagle St and N Grove St. Following the completion of the watermain, the contractor will install the new sanitary sewer and water services within the right of way.
  • Following the completion of services, the contractor plans to work on the installation of the new storm sewer.
  • By the end of next week (weather dependent), the contractor may be ready to start the installation of the new sanitary sewer starting within the N Grove St intersection and working east towards N Market St.

PROJECT UPDATE

This past week April 8th, 2024

  • The contractor successfully started construction this week. The work focused on the implementation of the road closure of State Street (CSAH 6) between N Eagle Street and N Willow Street. The CSAH 6 detour has been fully implemented.
  • The contractor reclaimed the existing bituminous pavement within the initial three-block area and is working on removing this material to be reused as the aggregate base for the new roadway.
  • The contractor also successfully installed and tested the temporary water system. The connection of properties to the temporary system is expected to start next week and individual door hangers will be delivered to the affected properties.

Upcoming for next week April 15th, 2024

  • Monday and Tuesday the contractor plans to complete multiple water shutdowns in order to install new gate valves within State Street at the perimeter of the project area. Individual door hangers will be delivered to all affected properties a minimum of 24-hours before any planned water shut down.
  • Following the water shutdowns for the rest of the week the contractor plans to work on the installation of the new sanitary sewer system between N Eagle and N Grove Street.
  • The electrical contractor plans to continue to install the new street lighting bases along the west end of the project west of N Eagle Street. Following the completion of the new concrete bases the contractor plans to start installation of the new electrical conduit within the boulevard between the bases.

 

 

April 5, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

Construction is on schedule to begin Monday, April 8th (weather dependent).  The planned road closure will be along State Street (CSAH 6) from the west side of N Eagle Street to the east side of N Willow Street.  Initial operations within this three-block area next week will include pavement removals, material delivery, and setup of the temporary water system.  Next week, the contractor also anticipates starting the installation of the new street lighting system west of N Eagle Street. The contractor has confirmed that the installation of new underground utilities will begin the week of the 15th.

The CSAH 6 detour utilizing S Meridian St (CSAH 3), TH 169 and CSAH 1 into Blakely will be implemented starting on Monday.

Door hangers or newsletters were delivered to every property within the project area today with more information regarding the project start-up.  Anyone looking for more information about the project is encouraged to visit the website for construction updates and to sign up for email updates.

 

March 29, 2024

PROJECT UPDATE

Construction is anticipated to begin on Monday, April 8th (weather dependent).  The contractor has confirmed that initial operations will include the roadway closure of State Street (CSAH 6) from N Eagle Street to N Willow Street.  The following intersections along State Street will be closed to vehicle traffic:

  • N Eagle Street
  • N Grove Street
  • N Market Street

The intersection of State Street and N Willow Street will be reclaimed during this initial phase but then will be reopened to vehicle traffic until the progression of work requires its closure at a later date.

A project open house was held this week on Tuesday, March 26th from 5 to 7 pm.  All information presented at the open house can be found on the project website.

TREE REMOVAL

Beginning Monday, March 18 motorists and residents are advised to used caution on State Street (CSAH 6) west of Walnut Street (TH 25) as crews will be removing trees that are either impacted by construction or in poor condition and deemed at risk for disease. Expect shoulder and intermittent lane closures associated with this work, which is expected to take 2-3 days to complete. This is in preparation of the street and utility work along the corridor that is anticipated to start in early April.

April 8 – Road Closure State Street from Eagle St to Willow St

Mid-May – Road Closure State Street from Willow St to Chestnut St

End of June – Road Closure State Street from Chestnut St to Walnut St (State St/TH 25 intersection will remain open at all times) / Reopening State Street from Eagle St to Willow St

Mid-Aug – Reopening State Street from Willow St to Chestnut St

Mid-Sept – Mill and Overlay on State Street west of Eagle St

Oct 18 – Substantial Completion / Removal of Detour and Reopening of all of State Street

June 2025 – Final Completion
