Highway 27 and 18th Street NE Roundabout

Little Falls

Project Overview

The City of Little Falls, in partnership with MnDOT, is proposing to replace the current traffic signal at the Highway 27 (1st Avenue NE) and 18th Street NE intersection with a roundabout. In late 2022 and early 2023, the City conducted a study to identify the most effective traffic control solution for the intersection. A roundabout was identified as the most effective intersection control to support current and future traffic volumes and improve the safety of drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians. For more information, you can review the Intersection Control Evaluation (ICE) study report.

Proposed intersection design

  •  Improve safety and mobility in the area
  • Establish continuity with other road designs in the region
  • Meet the needs of current and future planned development in the area
