Oneida Street Phase 2
Reconstruction Project

Overview

Project Overview

The City of Storm Lake is planning improvements along Oneida Street from East 3rd Street to East Lakeshore Drive. The project will rebuild the street and update important underground utilities to help keep the area safe, reliable, and ready for the future. Work will include replacing the sanitary sewer, upgrading the watermain between East 2nd Street and East Lakeshore Drive, and adding a new storm sewer system to help carry stormwater to Storm Lake through Chautauqua Park.

These improvements are designed to improve pavement condition, decrease pavement ponding, support dependable utility service, and meet the community’s long-term infrastructure needs.

Project Goals

  • Reconstruct Oneida Street to improve pavement conditions, safety, and overall functionality.
  • Replace aging sanitary sewer and watermain infrastructure to improve reliability and service life.
  • Install a new storm sewer system to better manage drainage and reduce flood risk.

Project Area

The project area includes Oneida Street from Bair Street to East Lakeshore Drive in Storm Lake, Iowa. Improvements will take place along the full corridor, including roadway surfaces and underground utilities within the public right-of-way.
