Construction Updates

Construction Update – November 22

As construction of Highway 7 and Highway 110 wraps up for the season, the intersection will be partially reopening for regular use. On Wednesday, November 23rd, Highway 7 and 90th Avenue north of Highway 7 will re-open to all traffic. Highway 110 south of Highway 7 to Hyland Drive will remain closed.

Please refer to the intersection map to see the updated closure area.

Another update will be sent out for future openings once they are made available. We thank you for your continued patience at this time.

Construction Update – June 3

 

PREVIOUS CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY

  • Highway 7 and Highway 110 intersection remains closed for construction
  • A detour has been posted for those travelling through the area. A detour map is available on the project website here
  • Excavation of excess material and roadbed construction was started
  • Installation of new storm sewer culverts has been completed

CURRENT AND UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY

  • On June 6 at 7:00 am, the 90th Ave closure will be moved north of the Early Learning Center drop off entrance and exit
    • The north entrance for the Early Learning Center and parking lot will still be available Hope Evan. Free Church will have access from the east on Hwy 7.
      • Use the north lane of the new roadbed (gravel surface) to get to the church
      • Access from 90th Ave will not be possible
  • Pavement Removals will be completed on 90th Ave
  • Roadbed construction will be completed on 90th Ave
  • New aggregate subbase materials will be placed
  • Paving on 90th Ave is anticipated to begin in the first part of August
  • Once work is complete on 90th Ave, work will move back to Hwy 7 & 110

GETTING AROUND THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE

Project Detour Routes

Highway 7 and Highway 110 is closed to all traffic.  A detour is available for traffic moving through the area via Highway 49, Highway 71, Highway 65, and Highway 110.  Please review the detour map for additional information .

Please use the posted detour route and follow construction signage when travelling through the area.  Following the posted signage helps to make sure those travelling through the area and construction staff are safe.

Visiting Local Businesses

With the intersection of Highway 7 and Highway 110 closure in effect, we remind people that businesses near the closure are still open, and access is being maintained.

If there are any specific questions or concerns regarding access to specific businesses or locations near the closure area, please reach out to the project team and coordinate with business owners on access routes.  Please support your local businesses throughout the construction process.
