UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION
This October, lane grading and resurfacing will occur along the Highway 10 corridor in preparation for the Highway 10/169 Improvement Project, scheduled to begin in 2022. This work will take place at Fairoak Avenue and Thurston Avenue, beginning Monday, Oct. 18 and concluding on Friday, Oct. 29.
Fairoak Avenue:
Beginning Monday, Oct. 18, shoulder grading and paving efforts will begin on the northeast corner of Highway 10 and Fairoak Avenue. The westbound Highway 10 right turn lane will be closed at Fairoak as well as the east crosswalk. Detour signs will be posted. Westbound traffic will be redirected via Verndale Avenue to Brighton Street to Greenhaven Parkway. Eastbound traffic will still be able to turn left onto Fairoak Avenue.
Thurston Avenue:
During this time, median work on Thurston Avenue will also begin. The median will be removed, reducing traffic to one lane in each direction. On Monday, Oct. 25, northbound Thurston Avenue will be closed from Highway 10 to Cornelius Place/Highway 10 Service Road. Detour signs will be posted. Westbound traffic on Highway 10 will be directed to turn right on to Verndale Avenue, and eastbound traffic will be directed to turn left onto Fairoak Avenue. Both routes will continue along Greenhaven Parkway to Thurston Avenue.
Construction is expected to be completed by Friday, October 29.
