Project Overview
The City of Two Harbors is planning to fully reconstruct Lighthouse Point Road in 2026 to replace aging infrastructure and improve safety, reliability, and mobility.
This project will:
- Replace the existing watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems to upgrade aging utilities and improve service reliability
- Reconstruct the roadway with a new pavement section built on improved base materials for a longer-lasting surface
- Install new concrete curb and gutter to enhance drainage control and roadway definition
- Construct a new 10-foot-wide paved trail to improve pedestrian and bicycle connectivity in the area
- Upgrade stormwater management through new structures and improved drainage pathways
- Restore disturbed areas with topsoil, seed, and stabilization measures following construction
