Newsletters

This will be the last newsletter on the project. The remaining work on the project consists of the following:

Paving of the bituminous driveways will begin Monday. Because of the number of driveways, this work may carry into Tuesday.
Paving of bituminous wear course will occur on Wednesday, weather permitting. There is a forecast for rain next week, which could impact the schedule.
Grading work behind the curb will be ongoing until completed. Seeding and mulching will occur after grading is completed, but grass growth is not expected until spring.

For the week of October 21, expected work includes the following:

Paving of the bituminous base course is expected to begin Monday afternoon and be completed on Tuesday.
Raising of manhole and valve castings will follow the paving work.
Paving of bituminous driveways is expected before the end of the week.
After the base course paving is completed, the Contractor will complete the backfilling and grading behind the new curb and prepare these areas for seeding and hydro-mulching.

For the week of October 14, expected work includes the following:

- Grading of the roadway between the new curbs in preparation for bituminous paving.
- As of today, we don’t have a confirmed date for when paving will occur. At this point, we believe it will be sometime the week of October 21^st.
- After the base course paving is completed, the Contractor will complete the backfilling and grading behind the new curb and prepare these areas for seeding and hydro-mulching.

For the week of October 7, expected work includes the following:

- Completion of excavation and building of aggregate road base on Terrace Drive, Oak Street, Pine Street and Isle Road.
- Curb and Gutter construction on these remaining street segments is currently scheduled for Wednesday, October 9.
- After the curb is poured, vehicles will not be able to drive over it until the concrete is cured (along with the concrete driveways for those situations), which takes approximately 5 to 7 days.
- Bituminous paving is tentatively scheduled to begin sometime the week of October 14^th.

For the week of September 30, expected work includes the following:

- Water service construction on Isle Road.
- Storm Sewer construction on Isle Road and Terrace Drive.
- Excavation and building of aggregate road base on Terrace Drive and Oak Street.
