Periodic lane closures on Highway 169 and County Road 4

Crews will be onsite as early as mid-May through June to relocate utilities in preparation for the construction of the Highway 169 and County Road 4 Improvements project. During this work, drivers will likely see temporary lane closures on Highway 169, County Road 4 (Fremont Avenue) and some city streets within Zimmerman. More detailed information will be shared as plans and schedules are finalized. Please note this is utility work in advance of the construction contract.

June preconstruction open house

In June, the project team plans to host an open house to provide detailed information about traffic impacts and closures during construction. The date and time have not yet been confirmed but will be shared on the project website in the coming weeks. Construction is anticipated to begin late June / early July.

More about the project

Sherburne County, in partnership with the City of Zimmerman and MnDOT, is removing the existing traffic signal and constructing an interchange at the Highway 169 / Country Road 4 intersection. Construction will take place in 2025 and 2026; review the staging map.
