Noise Wall Voting Results

A noise barrier analysis was conducted three locations met the necessary requirements to be considered for noise walls. In accordance with noise regulations, a public vote involving the affected parties was held last month. The votes have been tallied and the results are as follows:

• The west wall and northeast wall will not be built.
• The southeast wall will be built.

Funding and Construction Schedule

The project team is happy to announce that the project is now fully funded! Private utility locations will begin in 2024 and a contractor will be selected in early 2025. The project will be constructed in two stages:

• In 2025 the local connections will be constructed to provide access during major Hwy 169 construction the following year.
• In 2026 the Hwy 169 / CR 4 interchange bridge and ramps will be constructed.

During both stages, Hwy 169 will be reduced to one lane in each direction except during winter months. You can review the construction schedule graphic and staging map below. Another open house will be held ahead of construction starting to share the final design and construction plans.
