August 10 Update

The evening of Friday, August 11, 2023 the lane restrictions on TH 210 at Knollwood Drive will be removed. The left (inside) lanes of east bound and west bound TH 210 will be reopened, and the Reduced Conflict Intersection (RCI) turn lanes on TH 210 at Knollwood Drive will also open.

July 21 Update

On Monday, July 24, 2023 at 7:00 a.m. the lane restrictions on TH 210 at Knollwood Drive will be revised. The left (inside) lanes of east bound and west bound TH 210 will be closed with traffic being routed to the right (outside) lanes as crews complete concrete median work within TH 210 to construct a Reduced Conflict Intersection (RCI) on TH 210.

Knollwood Drive north of TH 210 will be open to right in movements off TH 210 and right out movements from Knollwood Drive to TH 210.

June 14 Update

Lane closures on TH 210 at Inglewood Drive will be removed on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. Inglewood Drive from TH 210 to Foley Road will remain closed until the rail crossing signal can be completed which is planned for Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

Stop signs on Foley Road will be installed at the intersection with Inglewood Drive. This is a change from Foley Road currently being a through street.

On Thursday, July 6, 2023 to Tuesday, July 11, 2023 Knollwood Drive from TH 210 to Fairview Road and from TH 210 to Foley Road will be closed as the existing roadway will be removed ahead of the TH 210 and Knollwood Drive traffic signal being removed.

TH 210 eastbound and westbound right turn lanes and left turn lanes will also be closed at Knollwood Drive.  Motorists south of TH 210 on Foley Road will have access to TH 210 at Highland Scenic Road (CSAH 48) and Elder Drive during this time.  Motorists north of TH 210 will have access to TH 210 at Memorywood Drive and Inglewood Drive during this time.

On Wednesday, July 12, 2023 the TH 210 and Inglewood Drive traffic signal and Inglewood Drive rail crossing will be activated and open for traffic.

Lane restrictions on TH 210 and Knollwood Drive closures will remain in-place as crews complete grading south of TH 210 to remove Knollwood Drive and construct a Reduced Conflict Intersection (RCI) on TH 210 and Knollwood Drive north of TH 210.

May 15 Update:

On Wednesday, May 17, 2023 traffic control on TH 210 at Inglewood Drive will be revised.  Eastbound TH 210 from Knollwood Drive to Inglewood Drive will be reduced to one lane.  The inside (north) lane and left turn lane will be closed as crews complete median and turn lane work at Inglewood Drive.  The left turn from eastbound TH 210 north to Inglewood Drive will be closed.  A detour utilizing Knollwood Drive and Fairview Road will be signed to access Inglewood Drive north of TH 210.

Westbound TH 210 from Inglewood Drive to 1,500 feet east of Inglewood Drive will be reduced to one lane.  The inside (south) lane and left turn lane will be closed as crews complete median and turn lane extension work at Inglewood Drive.  Inglewood Drive will be reduced to right in and right out turn movements during this time.

These lane closures are planned to be in-place until Friday, May 26, 2023.

April 27 Update:

On Monday, May 1, 2023 eastbound TH 210 from Knollwood Drive to Inglewood Drive will be reduced to one lane. The outside (south) lane will be closed as crews construct a right turn to Inglewood Drive, construct Inglewood Drive south to Foley Road and install a traffic signal at TH 210 and Inglewood Drive. The lane closure is planned to be in-place until Friday, June 30, 2023.

Please drive with caution when in a construction zone and expect traffic delays.

2022 Construction Updates

October 28 Update:

Striping along Foley Road will take place today, and the roadway will reopen to all traffic at 5 p.m. Final punch list items will be completed during the week of October 31. Mail, garbage service and school bus routes have been resumed to normal, preconstruction operations. Thank you to the community for your patience during construction!

Week of October 24

  • Monday, Oct. 24: Shouldering and final topsoil grading
  • Tuesday, Oct. 25: Install signs and mailboxes
  • Monday to Wednesday: Tree planting
  • Tuesday and Wednesday: Seeding and hydro mulch

Week of October 17

  • Monday, Oct. 17: Pour remaining concrete pedestrian ramps
  • Tuesday, Oct. 18: Final paving of Foley Road
  • Thursday, Oct. 20: Pavement striping
  • Thursday and Friday (Oct. 20-21): Light pole installation

The following week, trees, traffic signs and mailboxes will be installed.

Week of October 10

  • Knollwood Drive from TH 210 to Timberlane Drive will reopen at 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10 to thru traffic.
  • Knollwood Drive will remain open from TH 210 to Timberlane Drive until the Inglewood Drive connection to Foley Road is opened in 2023.

Week of October 3

  • Continue with light pole base installation.
  • Complete final grading of the street and trail on Foley Road by Wednesday.
  • Pave first lift of trail and Foley Road Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
  • Knollwood Drive will reopen from TH 210 to Timberlane Drive until the Inglewood Drive connection to Foley Road is opened in 2023.

Week of September 26

  • Light pole base installation is planned to take place on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
  • Final grading of the street and trail on Foley Road will take place by the end of the week.
  • Knollwood Drive from TH 210 to Timberlane Drive will be closed through Friday, Oct. 7 to reconstruct the intersection.

Week of September 19

  • Due to rain, final paving at the Isle Drive and Forthun Road roundabout has been delayed to Saturday, Sept. 17. Once paving is complete, striping will occur on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
  • Concrete will be poured for curbs and gutters along Foley Road on Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • The poured concrete will cure for one week and final grading will begin the week of September 26.
  • The concrete curb and gutter work has been rescheduled to Monday, Sept. 19.
  • Knollwood Drive from TH 210 to Timberlane Drive will be closed from Monday, Sept. 19 to Friday, Oct. 7 to reconstruct the intersection.

Week of September 12

  • Complete tree planting, sod and seeding the turf areas at the Isle Drive/Forthun Road roundabout.
  • Final paving will take place on Thursday, Sept. 15 and pavement markings on Friday, Sept. 16.
  • Continue to bring the street to final grade and place aggregate base, class 5, along Foley Road.
  • The concrete curb and gutter work has been rescheduled to Monday, Sept. 19.

Week of September 5

  • No work on Monday, Sept. 5 (Labor Day).
  • Complete concrete pedestrian ramps at the Isle Drive/Forthun Road roundabout.
  • Install signs and light poles near the roundabout.
  • Place topsoil, install irrigation and seed turf areas near the roundabout.
  • Foley Road will be brought to final grade and aggregate base, class 5 will be placed.
  • Concrete curb and gutter work is planned for the week of September 12.

Week of August 29

  • Final grading of the Isle Drive and Forthun Road area.
  • Grading on Foley Road.
  • Final trail paving at Isle Drive and Forthun Road will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
  • Remaining pedestrian ramps will be paved toward the end of the week.
  • Light poles at the roundabout will be installed on Thursday, Sept. 1.

Week of August 22

  • Pressure test and disinfect the watermain to verify that it can be connected to and utilized.
  • Installation of storm sewer from Forthun Road to Knollwood Drive.
  • Isle Drive and Forthun Road manholes and gate valves will be raised to final elevations and final grading is expected the week of August 29.

Week of August 15

  • Continue with sanitary sewer and watermain work along Foley Road.
    • The first part of the week will be west of Knollwood Drive for approximately 1,000 feet.
    • The remainder of the week will be at the Animal Care Center east to Forthun Road.
  • Light pole bases will be installed at the mini roundabout.

Week of August 8

  • Continue with sanitary sewer and watermain work along Foley Road.
  • Sanitary sewer is expected to be complete. Watermain will be complete by the end of August.
  • Bituminous paving on Isle Drive and Forthun Road will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday (August 9 and 10).
  • Grading and topsoil placement along curbs will continue.
  • Light pole bases are expected to be installed next week.

Week of August 1

  • Knollwood Drive will be closed from Timberlane Drive to TH 210 on Wed., August 3 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Installation of watermain in the Foley Road and Knollwood Drive intersection.
  • Concrete curb and gutter installation on Isle Drive and Forthun Road. When the curb is cured, final grading and aggregate base construction will be complete.
  • Continue the installation of sewer and water.

Week of July 25

  • Further grading of the Isle Drive and Forthun Road roundabout.
  • Continue the installation of sewer and water.
  • Toward the end of the week, the contractor will place Class 5 aggregate base and pour concrete curb.
  • NOTE: On Wednesday, Aug. 3, Knollwood Drive will be closed from Timberlane Drive to TH 210 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Week of July 18

  • The contractor will begin grading of the Isle Drive and Forthun Road roundabout.
  • Paving the first lift of bituminous pavement on the west end of Foley Road will take place on Wednesday or Thursday.
  • Sewer and water construction will take place.
  • The installation of the dewatering system is complete and running on Foley Road in the area of sanitary sewer and watermain construction at Inglewood Drive.

Week of July 11

  • The contractor will begin installing storm sewer at the Isle Drive and Forthun Road roundabout.
  • The contractor will pour concrete driveway aprons on Foley Road west of Knollwood on Tuesday or Wednesday. Residents will be contacted regarding access to their private drives.
  • Dewatering will continue to be installed on Foley Road in the area of sanitary sewer and watermain construction at Inglewood Drive.
  • Sewer and water construction is expected to begin.

Week of July 4

  • No work will be performed on the site on Monday, July 4.
  • The contractor is planning to install storm sewer crossings next week on Foley Road west of Knollwood Drive and install storm sewer at the Isle Drive and Forthun Road roundabout.
  • Following storm sewer installation on Foley Road west of Knollwood, the road will be graded, and curb and gutter is planned for Friday, July 8. The contractor will coordinate with residents regarding access to their private drives.
  • Dewatering is scheduled to be installed on Foley Road in the area of sanitary sewer and water main construction at Inglewood Drive. Sewer and water construction is expected to follow after July 11.
