9th Street Utility and Street Improvements
Project Overview
The City of International Falls is improving 9th Street from 14th Avenue to Highway 53. The proposed improvements include:
- Addition of a multi-use path along the north side of the corridor
- New concrete curb and gutter and roadway pavement
- Water main, storm sewer and sanitary sewer replacements
- Lead service line replacement

Work completed this week
- Sanitary sewer was installed on the 700 block of 9th Street and connected to the previously installed sanitary sewer on the 800 block of 9th Street.
- About half of the water and sanitary sewer services have been connected to the water and sanitary mains on the 700 block of 9th Street.
- Temporary water has passed testing from 5th Avenue to Highway 53.
Work planned for next week
- Continue replacing water and sanitary sewer services on the 700 Block of 9th street along with 4 services on the west end of the 600 block of 9th Street.
- Install storm sewer in in the 8th and 7th Avenue intersections.
- Potentially switch residents over to temporary water from 5th Avenue to Highway 53.
