Alert
De-Icing Chemicals and New Concrete
New concrete surfaces will be sensitive to salt and other de-icing products this winter. Excessive application of these products will damage the concrete. Please avoid the use of salt, rock salt, sodium chloride, ammoniums, potassium and chloride. If concrete is damaged due to chemical use, there is no guarantee it will be replaced.
The Contractor recommends the following methods to prevent damage to the new concrete:
- As much as possible, use a snow shovel and sand.
- 100% Green Method. Use a mixture of sand and alfalfa meal (available at farm and nursery stores). This provides traction and the alfalfa meal contains nitrogen which will melt ice.
Easements
If you live in the proposed project area and have not had the chance to sign your easement documents, we would greatly appreciate it if you could stop by Browerville City Hall during business hours and do so.
