Preparing for construction
Phase 2 of the Downtown Waconia Reconstruction project is planned to be constructed Summer – Fall 2024. The project team’s top priority is ensuring that all impacted businesses are aware of the project and kept informed throughout construction.
Construction is currently anticipated to begin in May, so now’s a great time to start thinking about how you’ll keep people informed about accessing your business as the project is constructed. If you don’t already have social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), consider doing this for your business. You may also want to consider temporary signs/banners to promote that your business is open during construction.
Stay informed during construction
During construction, the project team will hold weekly “office hours” during which business owners can drop by to discuss any construction questions or concerns with the project team. These timing and location of these meetings is yet to be determined and will be shared when available.
Additionally, weekly construction updates will be posted to the website and sent out to subscribers via email and text. These updates will be useful for planning ahead to keep your employees, customers, and suppliers informed about access to your business. Subscribe now to ensure you receive the most up-to-date information throughout construction.
