Project Updates – June 26, 2026
Work Completed This Week
In Stage 1, crews:
- Completed constructing the new road section
- Completed installing the irrigation system
- Poured concrete curb and gutter on 1st Street between Pine Street and Spruce Street
- Began preparing sidewalk for concrete work
Work Planned Next Week
In Stage 1, crews plan to:
- Grade the road and place the gravel in preparation for paving
- Paving is planned for Wednesday, July 1, weather permitting
- Continue preparing sidewalks for concrete work
- Properties will be notified in advance of any impacts. During the workday, crews will do their best to accommodate regular access.

In the Phase 3 (area shown in green), final paving is planned for Thursday, July 2, weather permitting. During this work, the Phase 3 roads will be closed. This includes:
- 1st Street between Maple Street and Olive Street
- Olive Street between 1st Street and 2nd Street
- 2nd Street from Olive Street to Elm Street will be closed to traffic
Road striping is expected to take place shortly after the July 4th weekend.
June 19, 2026
Work Completed This Week
In Stage 1, crews:
- Continued excavating the new road section
- Continued installing the irrigation system
- Poured concrete curb and gutter between Olive Street and Pine Street
- Completed light and banner pole base installations along the south side of City Square Park
In stage 2, Lumen crews worked on Elm Street between 1st Street and 2nd Street.
Work Planned Next Week
In Stage 1, crews plan to:
- Finish excavating the new road section,
- Finish installing the irrigation system
- Pour the remainder of the concrete curb and gutter in Stage 1 between Pine Street and Spruce Street early in the week, if weather allows.
- Properties will be notified in advance of any impacts. During the workday, crews will do their best to accommodate regular access.
Utility work is scheduled for Friday, June 19 on Olive Street between 1st Street and 2nd Street. This work will affect the northbound lane, and short delays are possible. The work is expected to be completed the same day.
June 12, 2026
Next week, crews will continue street excavation and irrigation system installation.
Crews will also pour concrete curb and gutter if weather allows. Properties will be notified in advance of any impacts. During the workday, crews will do their best to accommodate regular access.
Lumen will also be on site adjusting their underground facilities on Elm Street by the alley between Olive Street and Elm Street to avoid conflicts with Stage 2 construction. During this work access to the alley will be limited.
June 5, 2026
This week in Stage 1, crews continued water and sanitary sewer installation work. Sidewalk removals, light and banner pole bases installations and watermain connections on Elm Street were completed.
Next week, crews plan to continue installing light and banner pole bases. Work is also planned for storm sewer installations, street excavation and irrigation system installations.
May 29, 2026
This week crews continued sanitary sewer and water service work in Stage 1, and is expected to finish next week. As a reminder, water shutoffs may be necessary during this work. Properties will be notified in advance of any impacts. During the workday, crews will do their best to accommodate regular access.
Next week, crews plan to work on storm sewer, sidewalk removals and light and banner pole base installation in Stage 1. Access to front doors will be limited during this work. Areas will be restored with temporary walking mats when complete. During the workday, crews will do their best to accommodate regular access.
May 27, 2026
On Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29, crews will complete concrete maintenance work in the 2023 construction area (two blocks of Main Street and one block of Olive Street).
During this time, some parking stalls and sidewalk segments will be temporarily blocked. Pedestrians will be directed to alternate routes.
Once the work is completed, sidewalks and parking stalls will be restored to their original condition. However, any newly placed concrete will be marked off and remain closed for approximately 7 days to allow the concrete to harden.
The time and day of concrete work is subject to change due to weather or contractor scheduling changes. Properties will receive further notice if such changes occur. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding!
May 22, 2026
This week crews finished installing the sewer and water mains on Stage 1. Late this week crews began installing sewer and water services on Stage 1. This work began on First Street at Olive Street and will continue to the east for all of next week.
Reminder: Water shutoffs may be necessary during this work. Properties will be notified in advance of any impacts. During the workday, crews will do their best to accommodate regular access.
