We’re Meeting With Local Businesses!

We are inviting local businesses to one-on-one meetings with the project team to gather your feedback, answer questions, and learn more about how your business uses Highway 250. We will be hosting meetings at the Lanesboro Community Center on July 9th, 15th, and 24th. Click the link below to sign up.

Overview

The City of Lanesboro and MnDOT plan to reconstruct Highway 250 from the bridge over the Root River to Highway 16. The project will coordinate efforts to improve the overall infrastructure of the area and address safety concerns for all road users.

Proposed improvements include:

  • Reconstruct Highway 250
  • Replace City sewer and water utilities as well as stormwater management facilities
  • Improve bike and pedestrian crossings, sidewalks, and trails
  • Improve vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian safety

Schedule

March 25th, 2025 – Public open house for preliminary layout options

Spring – Summer 2025 – Final layout proposal development

Summer 2025 – Outreach meetings with business owners to gather input on proposed final layout

Late Summer 2025 – Public open house for final construction layout and preliminary assessment information

Fall 2025 – Fall 2026 – Outreach meetings with business and property owners to collaborate on planning and construction staging

Fall 2026 – Public open house for construction staging, business access, and assessment information

Early 2027 – Project bidding

Spring 2027 – Public open house for additional assessment information and what to expect during construction

Summer 2027 – Construction begins
