190th Street Improvements

Project Development Moving Forward

The Jordan City Council authorized the 190th Street Improvement Project to continue project development activities, including the completion of final design and construction specifications and the acquisition of the necessary right-of-way and easements necessary to construct, own, and maintain the improvements. A layout that the continued project development activities are based upon is shown below. The layout is meant to show the general concept of the design and is not the final design. Some project highlights include the addition of a concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, stormwater management, turn lanes, and grading for a future multi-use trail on the south side of the road. This project will facilitate current traffic and will be adequate for future land development as it progresses. Note that no frontage roads are planned with the project.

Background

The City plans to reconstruction 190th Street from CR 9 to Beaumont Avenue in 2025. The existing pavement is in very poor condition and is in need of improvement. The road is planned to be upgraded to an urban section to prepare for future development in the area. The existing corridor is a 2-lane rural section (no curb and gutter or storm sewer). Curb and gutter, and storm sewer will be added to the corridor and will be expanded to include turn lanes for future development. The project is currently planned to be constructed in 2025 in coordination with the upcoming 2025-2027 US 169 and TH 282 interchange, including the proposed single-lane roundabout to be constructed in 2025 at the CR 9 / 190th Street / Valley View Drive intersection. Additional information on the interchange project can be found here.
