Lowertown Area Roadways & East Street:

• Remove/Replace deficient concrete curb and gutter and pedestrian ramps: April 28^th or 29^th – late May
• CenterPoint Gas gas main relocation: May – June
• Street resurfacing: June for most streets. Third Street and Rice Street near the railroad tracks may be completed in the fall in conjunction with Union Pacific work.

Creek Lane, El Dorado Drive to Fireman’s Park

• Deficient curb & gutter replacement: April 28^th to mid-May.
• Pavement Resurfacing: August/September in coordination with the Creek Lane / 282 roundabout project

Downtown Alley & Parking Lot Construction: May to mid-July

Q: When will this project be constructed?

A: The construction contract will be awarded in the spring of 2021. Construction is expected to start late spring or early summer and last several months. This will be updated with more detail once the contract is awarded and the contractor submits their proposed construction schedule.

Street Resurfacing:

The proposed improvements include a combination of mill and overlay and full depth reclamation. The following streets in the Lowertown Area are proposed to receive a 2” mill and overlay:

1. Third Street from Mertens Street to Broadway Street
2. Fourth Street from Syndicate Street to Rice Street
3. Fifth Street from Varner Street to Rice Street
4. Sixth Street from Syndicate Street to Varner Street
5. Syndicate Street from Fourth Street to north of Sixth Street
6. Mertens Street from Second Street to Fourth Street
7. Wood Street from Second Street to the start of Wood Circle
8. West Street from Second Street to north of Sixth Street
9. Varner Street from Second Street to north of Sixth Street
10. Rice Street from Second Street to Broadway Street
11. Creek Lane from El Dorado Drive up the bluff to Sunset Drive

The following streets in the Lowertown Area are proposed to be full depth reclaimed in place:

1. Fourth Street from Rice Street to Broadway Street
2. Wood Street form Fourth Street to the start of Wood Cirlce

The resurfacing improvements in the Lowertown Area and along Creek Lane will also include ADA pedestrian ramp improvements, and spot curb and gutter replacement.

Alley Improvements:

The alley between Broadway Street and Mill Street, ½ block south of First Street is also proposed to be improved adjacent to a new parking lot. The improvements for this block of alley include installing a new 6” concrete pavement.

Parking Lot Improvements:

Construction of two parking lots including the installation of curb and gutter and bituminous pavement:

1. The historic Jordan Brewery property
2. City owned parcel off First Street, between Broadway Street and Mill Street behind the Pickled Pig. This proposed parking lot will have access off the alley that is also proposed to be improved as part of this projects.

Q: When will the contractor be working?

A: City working hours are 7 AM to 7 PM M-F and 8 AM to 6 PM on Saturday as necessary
